Works Technician - Controller

Circa £24,500

You will be field based, covering an area across Norfolk from Kings Lynn to the edge of Norwich, Fakenham area is the central location.


37 hours/ Full time

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Treatment Manager (TM), the Controller has responsibility to ensure Water Recycling treatment processes & systems are serviced & maintained so that they run effectively & efficiently in order to meet regulatory standards. The role requires prompt action in response to reactive work both during & outside the normal working day (there is a contractual requirement to undertake standby duties). Controllers should also carry out all reasonable tasks as requested by their relevant Optimiser

Key accountabilities include:

  • Carry out scheduled activities as instructed through the tough-book or direct from the Technicians or Front Line Managers

  • Liaise with other departments to reschedule work plan in order to address any critical compliance issues.

  • Ensure site servicing is carried out in order that process run as effectively and efficiently as possible, and that tasks are carried out in their correct sequence such that compliance is maintained at all times.

  • Ensure asset care activities (e.g. lubrication schedules) are carried out to required standards.

  • Implementation of agreed actions on Compliance Action Plans.

  • Carry out routine checks as instructed through the tough-book or direct from the OMC Technicians.

  • Monitor and record relevant scientific and process parameters and take suitable action if results are outside set limits for a particular site. Report upwards if there are any unforeseen process problems and when action limits have been exceeded.

  • Maintain sites at lowest possible levels of H&S risk
