Weighbridge Administrator

Salary – £12.50 per hour (plus benefits)
Hours – 50 hours per week, 6.30 am to 4.30 pm
Duration – 2.5 years

As a Weighbridge Administrator at FCC Environment, you will weigh waste vehicle in and out using the landfill site and to assist the site manager by ensuring weighbridge is operated in accordance with the Environmental Permit, Planning Permission, all FCC Group policies.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week, however, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

What will you be doing?

Weighing in and out of vehicles and entering details on to the ‘Gladis’ Weighbridge System using the computer.
• Monitoring Waste Transfer Notes and EWC code usage.
• To assist site manager in ensuring reports are populated and completed within set deadlines.
• To ensure users of the site are inducted in to the site safety procedures and to control and direct the flow of traffic into site.
• To assist the Site Manager in controlling and co-ordinating the efficient operation of the weighbridge in accordance with management instructions, all health & safety Working Procedures and Legislative Requirements, Planning Permissions, Environmental Permit etc. at all times.
• All accidents, near-misses or dangerous situations to be recorded and reported in accordance with FCC’s procedures, including any violence, threats or acts of intimidation against you, as well as any breach of rules, acts of dishonesty, malpractice or corruption by any visitor to the site, or member of staff.
• To be aware of and conversant with the relevant details of the environmental permit, Working Plan and Risk Assessments.
• To maintain a polite helpful manner while taking telephone and email queries from customers, suppliers and other and FCC Environment sites.
• To protect the Company’s ability to trade by ensuring compliance with relevant legislation at all times and especially that concerning health and safety in the workplace and the ‘Duty of Care’.
• To carry out housekeeping duties within weighbridge office, welfare facilities and site offices
• To carry out and ensure relevant contractor documents are correct and to carry out site inductions and to keep up to date.
• To undertake any other duties reasonably requested by FCC management including litter picking as and if required.
• To help site management with all aspects of site administration
• To help site management with all aspects of site purchasing
• To facilitate with the safe running of front of house
This may include work distributed from other sites under the line manager’s control.
