We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.
This crucial role sits in our fast-paced water distribution network team, where you will ensure our water supply is performing at its best. This is a field-based role where every day is different, from investigating water supply issues and mains bursts to helping our customers when things aren’t running smoothly.
Our technicians enjoy seeking out solutions to a range of water issues and positively representing South East Water when talking to our customers. Previous water industry or plumbing experience is welcome but isn’t essential for this role. As long as you’re eager to get stuck in, like to use your initiative and are customer-focused, we can teach you the rest. And if there’s a problem you can’t solve alone, our managers and colleagues will be on-hand to support you.
We believe that personal development should be rewarded. As you grow your skills, we’ll increase your base salary from £28,345 up to £36,264 per annum via a clear salary progression scheme.
Our technicians know how crucial water is to the community, which is why they are happy to work out-of-office hours when needed. Our work patterns are 07:00-15:30, 08:00–16:30, 09:00–17:30 with an occasional 10:00–18:30 when on standby. You’ll only work 1 Saturday every 3 months which is 07:00-14:30 with a weekday off when you do. Once you’re trained, you’ll join a 1 in 6 standby rota to provide out of hours assistance. We pay a standby allowance (£1,800 per annum on average) and overtime if called out.
You’ll grow a career with a meaningful purpose. Be you, belong and be valued.
- Come to work to feel safe, valued and trusted.
- We’ll encourage you to create and pursue new opportunities for personal growth.
