A forward-thinking utility company, SES Water is driven by innovation and environmental responsibility. We continuously invest in cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices to protect and preserve our precious water resources while meeting the evolving needs of our customers.

If you want to join a team with a commitment to delivering high quality services to our customers, we’d love you to join us on our journey to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve and the environment we cherish. Together, we are shaping a sustainable future, one drop at a time.

  • Generous salary; up to £25,863.75
  • Group personal pension plan with up to 10% employer contribution.
  • Life assurance for peace of mind.
  • Financial education, savings, and loans support.
  • Cycle to Work and Car Share Schemes and for eco-conscious commuting.
  • 25 days of annual leave for work-life balance.
  • Simply Health healthcare cashback scheme and Surgical Choices.

All of us at SES Water, regardless of whether we are office or field based, share values of Service, Integrity, Collaboration, Commitment, Compassion and Innovation.  In practice, this means we provide our customers (who are very often our colleagues too) with great support and customer care.

As a part of this incredible support network, the Trainee Utilities Fitter reports into the Section Manager of our Supply department and will join the team repairing, maintaining and replacing the pipes, portable mains and all everything in between.  Sounds easy?  It’s hard manual work.  Our network infrastructure comes in all shapes and sizes and often needs attention outside of office hours in driving wind, pouring rain, sleet or snow.

Don’t worry, we provide protective (and warm) clothing and you’ll be well recompensed for standby and rota’d weekends.

As part of your role and training you’ll be:

  • Helping to maintain our high standards for customers, Health and Safety requirements, and environmental considerations.
  • Showing respect and consideration to those affected by works
  • Excavating, and repairing all sizes of pipe and ancillary apparatus within the water mains network
  • Loading and unloading materials, backfilling and reinstatement excavations.
  • Helping with daily vehicle and plant maintenance checks
  • Keeping the Redhill yard compliant with site-based risk assessments
  • Recording all details of work carried out on site.

This is a trainee role - we don’t have a long list of requirements, but we do need you to be:

  • physically fit
  • willing to learn
  • responsive to instructions
  • polite and responsive to customers

If you have a full driving licence and/or any experience in construction that would be great, but not essential.

We thrive on the knowledge and life experiences of our colleagues, recognizing that our differences bring diverse perspectives and make us a great team. We welcome people who live our values, bring their true selves to work, and have a desire to share their lived experience to serve our communities both now and in the future.

Please let us know if you need any support during the application process.
