The role of Technical Lead sits within the Strategic Infrastructure (SI) Business Unit, which is responsible for the development and construction of major projects that will make the energy transition a reality.

As part of the technical publications team, your role will be to coordinate and develop the Strategic Options Report (SOR); a key document in the consenting process. The SOR outlines how we have considered a range of technical, environmental, socio-economic, and cost factors in determining the most suitable strategic option to take forward. It is a publicly available document and plays a crucial role in explaining the need for a project, the process we have followed, and our proposals.

Importantly, the SOR is one of several documents you will help contribute to, each significant to the success of our projects and supporting our journey towards net zero. Through this work, you will play a vital role in ensuring our proposals are robust, transparent, and positioned for successful delivery.

In this role you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to travelling for either our Warwick or Leeds office.

About you

• You are passionate about the energy transition and are seeking the opportunity to make it a reality.
• A proven track record in developing and coordinating technical documents for a range of audiences including the public, regulators, and government bodies.
• You'll have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You can collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders.
• A background in engineering or a technical discipline is desirable but not essential. Understanding areas such as energy infrastructure, technical solutions, and the consents process would be advantageous.

What you'll do

• As Technical Lead you will be responsible for the creation and technical authorship of Strategic Options Reports and other documentation for major projects in the SI portfolio, ensuring the information is accurate
• You will work to translate detailed engineering concepts and technical information relating to the technical development of our projects, into clear and understandable documentation for external stakeholders
• You will ensure that the documents meet the criteria and quality for the successful submission of Development Consent Order (DCO) applications
• You will be responsible for coordinating and sustaining continuous communication with experts and project teams
• You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the business including Senior Project Managers, Legal and Consents

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £55,000 - £64,000

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
