Job Purpose
To provide technical and engineering support to Developer Services and Metering to deliver projects to achieve company regulatory targets through the AMP and provide high quality data and analysis which support and drive process improvements, decision-making and achievement of performance targets within Developer Services and Metering operations.
To provide support and resolution of complex metering issues across the wider business Monitor performance whilst highlighting areas of concerns and work closely with Developer Services and Metering colleagues, Network Delivery, Contractor Partners and Customer Service to ensure that projects are delivered in a manner that promotes; World class Health and Safety performance, highest standards of customer satisfaction, ensure quality and compliant outputs, efficient project delivery.
Job Accountabilities
- Provide technical advice to Contractor agent and teams and sign off any agreed changes to scope of works as appropriate
- To provide technical advice to ensure potentially difficult jobs in the work bank are resolved in a timely manner
- Support the Metering Delivery teams for meter exchanges, installs and drive improvement to enhance OPS performance, CMEX and BRMEX
- Solutioneering approach to long standing legacy issues Assist in escalated customer complaints/issues on a face to face basis
- Reduction in unnecessary maintenance work through analysis and root cause analysis – build relationships and links across the business to deliver improvements
- Interrogation of 3rd party and UU systems, to identify trends and issues, determining future strategies
- Monitor contractor workbank reports focusing on jobs awaiting technical input and/or client delay
- Produce reporting for regulatory contributions
- Support the delivery of audit programmes
- Provide analysis of escalated/VIP complaints and disputes Responsible for the smooth running of workloads between UU and Contract Partners
- Provide central point of contact for all Contract Partner queries, working with UU internal functions to resolve and progress
- Work alongside Contract Partners to build and ratify remedial action plans to ensure areas of Contract Partner under-performance or concerns are addressed
- Building links and partnerships with Network on issues such as leakage/High measured bills/Zero Cons Reactive maintenance/Priority work
Knowledge and Skills
- HNC level qualification in relevant technical discipline or equivalent significant business experience
- Technically competent and high degree of expertise in Streetworks practice and legislation
- Knowledge and experience of contractual procedures and understanding of Developer Services and Metering policies
- Knowledge and understanding of Water Distribution, Network Operations, Regulatory Control and Metering
- Experienced in working comfortably in a matrix environment
- Highly experienced in working with contractors / service providers to deliver performance
- Ability to communicate successfully at all levels – internally and externally to United Utilities
- Thorough understanding of current contractual procedures used for the execution of Metering activities
- Excellent general knowledge of United Utilities Water metering and billing policy, strategy and initiatives
- Commercially astute and financially literate
- Proven analytical and trending skills
- Management information skills
- Detailed system knowledge of 3rd party systems and integration to United Utilities systems
- Experience of financial reporting and budgetary tracking
