Salary - £24,853 - £32,255

Here’s what you will be doing

We're looking for a Technical Bid Administrator to join our growing Bid and Design Team within our Lighting and Grid organisation. This role will provide valuable support in developing a centralised approach to bidding large highways lighting and electrical network connections projects. You will support with identifying and developing proposals from enquiry stage to contract award.

 

Other responsibilities include:

 

  • Assist in the preparation and management of bid enquiries and documentation in accordance with the relevant procedures
  • The delivery of a flexible, high quality, customer focused and cost-effective service within Highways Lighting
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for strategic business growth
  • Provide administrative bid and design support services for employees
  • Ensuring that accurate bid and design records are maintained
  • Maintain company procedures and systems under the guidance of management
  • Gather and process financial, personnel, sales and operational data from staff and manual/electronic systems
  • Continuously improving the way in which the bid and design team, identify, track, monitor, bid for works to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Be proactive about and take ownership of all aspects of safety, health, environmental and quality issues related to work and the impact on ourselves and others


What we need from you
  • A relevant business or project management qualification (please include details in your application) 
  • Previous customer service or bidding experience
  • Be able to tackle problems in a logical way taking into account all relevant information and take responsibility for solving a problem and seeing it through
  • Have a working knowledge of the customer service and guarantees of service requirements
  • Strong oral communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to take a confident and diplomatic approach with staff, colleagues and customers
  • Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and schedule own workload to meet the requirements of his/her own team
  • Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and produce it in a clear and logical format
  • A working knowledge of PC based computer systems and the ability to adapt quickly to changes to those systems
