Job Description

Centrica Energy Marketing & Trading (EM&T) is the trading arm of Centrica. We trade gas, power and LNG and provide the route to market for our upstream and power generation operations.

The Team Assistant will provide support to the EM&T leadership team members and undertake all duties to ensure the smooth running of the EM&T Leadership Team Office. The role holder will have a high level of professional discretion, tact and integrity due to the frequency of senior level internal and external contact and regular exposure to confidential data.

The role holder will also demonstrate a high level of initiative as they will work both with the EM&T Leadership Team members but also independently with only general guidance. The role holder will be required to work from the Company's offices based in Central London with occasional days working from home.

Role accountabilities:

  • Provide an effective and efficient support service to EM&T Leadership Team members

  • Perform complex diary management and maintaining electronic filing systems

  • Arrange international and local travel: flights, hotels and detailed travel itineraries and end-to-end seamless schedules

  • Manage of papers and documents to ensure full preparation for all meetings/appointments

  • Organise and prepare complex documentation -multi source management and collation

  • Assist in managing the pool of EM&T POs

  • Assist in maintaining integrity and accuracy of Marketing &Trading distribution lists

  • Contribute to other shared tasks requested by other team assistants and by the EM&T Managing Director's PA

  • Provide cover to other team assistants during sick leaves and vacation times.

The Person:

  • Experience of providing administrative support in a complex commercial environment

  • Ability to work pro-actively and independently with confidence

  • Ability to liaise effectively with senior executives internally and externally

  • High level of confidentiality and initiative

  • Ability to work in a team enviroment
  • Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Highly organised, able to prioritise and forward plan and remain calm under pressure

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (spoken and written) with a pleasant, professional manner

  • A self motivated individual with the ability to work alone under minimum supervision and direction

  • Flexibility in working hours

  • IT skills - Advanced Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Be proficient within Workday.
