Anglian Water are looking for a Target Cost Engineer to join the Commercial & Delivery Assurance team, who are responsible for ensuring that Anglian Water Service secures value and is working within our internal and external contractual frameworks, further enabling us to outperform the AMP7 Final Business Plan.
With training you will become an expert on our commercial models, commercial principles, investment decision process and target costing. With excellent analytical skills, you will ensure that all target costs are correctly calculated using approved options within our investment decision support tool, C55, and are in line with the AMP specific rule base.
Part of your role will include supporting the development of commercial principles of when/what constitutes a target and which scenarios constitute a revised target. You will also assess whether target cost reviews are valid.
Your role will also include ensuring Health, Safety and the Environment is always paramount, actively promoting and achieving Health & Safety objectives by embracing the importance of Health & Safety in all circumstances and leading by example.
Finally, you will build relationships with senior stakeholders and delivery teams, coming up with a rule book and translating it into contracts, responding to requests to translate option costs to targets and providing training and presentations to the business including delivery teams to ensure they understand the process and wider commercial issues.

What does it take to be a SD&CA Target Cost Engineer?
Degree educated in a technical subject such as quantity surveying/engineering/geography
An appreciation of Anglian Water cost models and C55, would be desirable
Knowledge and experience of a construction environment, ideally water industry assets
Understanding of estimating and setting commercial elements/targets
Excellent communication skills at varying levels
Ability to self-motivate and take initiative
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Ability to adapt, challenge, collaborate and change
Excellent IT skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office
Attention to detail, analyse and think strategically
