Description

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Systems Administrator to play a key role in delivering our AMI 2.0 programme-one of the most significant upgrades to our metering systems. In this role, you'll support the day-to-day operation, configuration, and data administration of our metering systems, helping to ensure a smooth and controlled transition, including the effective management of dual Head-End System (HES) operations.

Working as part of a collaborative operational support function, you'll provide vital capacity during a period of change-maintaining the accuracy and reliability of data across testing, pilot, rollout, and stabilisation phases. You will help keep customer-impacting processes running seamlessly while supporting the delivery of key programme milestones. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys structured, high-impact work, thrives in fast-paced environments, and wants to contribute directly to a large-scale transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support configuration updates, controlled data changes and parameter management across metering systems following approved processes and access controls.
  • Assist with operational processes during the coexistence of legacy and new HES platforms, including data preparation, validation and controlled manual interventions.
  • Provide administrative and system support to enable meter installations, replacements, commissioning and acceptance processes at scale.
  • Participate in FAT, SIT, UAT and SAT testing by accomplishing test cases, preparing data, collecting evidence and supporting defect resolution.
  • Lead customer related data corrections, handle exceptions and coordinate with Customer Care where individual cases require attention.
  • Monitor data completeness and accuracy throughout metering systems; bring up anomalies to technical specialists as required.
  • Contribute to developing, refining and accomplishing operational procedures and multi-functional training materials.
  • Provide backfill support for existing system administration capacity to ensure business as usual processes remain stable during high volume or high priority project periods.

  • Ability to maintain quality under high volume workloads.
Desirable Experience
  • Knowledge of metering, billing or utility systems.
  • Exposure to system migrations or formal testing processes.
  • Experience in regulated or audit sensitive environments.
  • Consistently accurate and timely process execution.
  • Proactively supports colleagues during busy operational periods.
  • Maintains high data quality standards even under pressure.
  • Raises issues early and appropriately.
  • Understands the downstream impact of data errors on billing and customer experience.
  • Respects system access controls, data security and operational boundaries.
