Affinity Water has a fantastic opportunity available to join our Sampling Team as a Support Team Leader covering Staines and Stevenage sampling depots.

This a perfect opportunity to lead a small team in a UKAS accredited team and develop your management, administrative and quality control skills further.

The Role:

You will be operating effectively as part of the wider sampling team, proactively liaising with the Sampling Manager and other Team Leaders to maximise efficiency and promote good team relationships.

What you'll be doing:

  • Line management of admin staff based in Stevenage and Staines (minimum 2 days - per site in each location)
  • Ensure admin staff are trained and working consistently to all necessary technical, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Understand sampling process and requirements of ISO17025 to a level allowing for supporting Analytical Quality Control related responsibilities such as auditing of records and technical data.
  • Carry out preparation for annual UKAS visit.
  • Participating in team meetings to raise admin related queries, suggest improvements and feedback relevant points to local Administrators.
  • Take ownership of improvement of admin process focusing on consistency in both areas.
  • Support and assist preparation of paperwork required by team including appointments sheets.
  • Ensure that all health and safety obligations are met to promote an environment of zero harm and to participate in the Health and Safety forum.

What you'll need:

  • Experience and confidence in using all Microsoft office packages. (IT Literate).
  • Experience in managing a small team, including absence management, personal development reviews (PDR's), 1:2:1's.
  • Experience in producing workplace reports, audit processing & BMI reporting.
  • Manage workload effectively and be able to prioritise work.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Full clean/manual driving licence.
