Job Description

As a Supply Chain and Compliance Manager - it will be a great opportunity to be part of a well-established Purchase to Pay team as well as alongside the wider Finance & Commercial team. You will sit on the P2P management team, helping to shape and steer the direction of the team.

What you’ll be doing as a Supply Chain and Compliance Manager
  • Manage the controls and risk mitigations that are in place to ensure compliance e.g. to legislation such as Modern Slavery Act, Data Protection and IR35
  • To establish and maintain the controls, risk and assurance approach for Commercial.
  • Ensure that robust processes are in place and followed to deliver compliance within existing regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • To assess, determine and deliver business priorities at risk from external restrictions and pressures.
  • Manage the Supply Chain Compliance team, always ensuring adequate cover for this business-critical function
  • Undertake the role of Risk Champion, the primary contact for all Risk, Audit and Assurance (RAA) activity in Finance and Commercial.
  • Management of multiple stakeholders, developing sustainable, long-lasting relationships across all areas of the internal business and our supply chain.
Base Location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court Reading
Working Pattern – Fixed term Secondment for 13 – 18 months (Maternity Cover)

What you should bring to the role
Essential
  • Strong understanding of purchase to pay processes.
  • Good Commercial awareness and its associated processes.
  • Experience defining risks, mitigating controls and assurance for monitoring compliance.
  • Strong understanding of the different regulations and legislation that apply to a P2P and Commercial function.
  • Have strong engagement skills which allow you to support, influence and constructively challenge stakeholders to deliver the best outcomes for Thames.
  • Possess a tenacious and resilient personality with the ability to work with confidence in a challenging, reactive environment.
Desirables
  • Strong written, verbal and presenting communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex regulatory issues to non-specialists
  • Ability to learn new tools and techniques quickly with an appetite to stay up to date and adapt to new technologies
