Role:

Clancy are seeking an experienced construction supervisor to join our Thames Water Joint Venture to manage and monitor Repair & Maintenance (R&M) operation, supporting the development of the teams.

Reporting directly to the Area Manager, you will supervise and be responsible for R&M work in the Thames Valley area, along with the development of your teams; enabling them to run an efficient and effective operational area and improve the delivery of work through promoting and communicating service performance and best practice to all staff.

 

Responsibilities:
• Day to day performance management of operational support and R&M teams (direct and indirect) ensuring you deliver service efficiently whilst maintaining appropriate safety and quality standards
• Ensure you and your teams provide a customer focused delivery service
• Liaise with internal & external stakeholders to ensure operational risk is managed effectively
• Promote and drive continual improvement
• Undertake regular safety audits / audits of work activity
• Identify safety hazards and ensure controls are implemented
• Ensure that all your team members have the appropriate training to be compliant and to ensure competency in their work
• Promote near miss reporting and ensure issues raised are resolved and lessons learned are shared, to embed a positive health and safety culture to include zero harm and zero utility strikes
• Minimise the risk of fatigue and other well-being issues for the assigned teams
• Be pro-active in developing new systems to meet the changing needs of the operation

 

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

Extensive experience in the water / utilities / construction /service environment / infrastructure environment
Experience of managing costs and outputs
Experience of managing stakeholders and customers
Experience of managing budgets
