Job Description

Job Purpose

 
  • Provide leadership of select Rainwater Management Strategic Programmes that are aligned to strategic needs and regional performance objectives, including but not limited to Advanced WINEP & Green Recovery.
  •                
  • To play a key role in promoting, advocating and shaping Strategic Rainwater Management programmes and ensuring the realisation of the specified benefits over time.
 

Job Accountabilities

 
  • Appraise potential intervention options and promote the best value intervention options to the appropriate delivery route for investment approval.
  •                
  • Develop recommendations, to articulate the proposed interventions, quantifying the risk reduction benefits and expected Whole Life Costs of solutions.
  •                
  • Develop Requirements Statements to articulate the investment needs.
  •                
  • Lead the Advanced WINEP, managing programme finance, workstreams and projects from creation to delivery.
  •                
  • Develop Benefits Realisation Plans at the outset of the Project
  •                
  • Support the production of Periodic review submissions with case studies and future plans.
  •                
  • Manage Change control around project requirements and benefits, escalating these as appropriate.
  •                
  • Support and contribute to the development of regulatory data to Ofwat, EA and HSE. Contribute to associated internal and external audits.
  •                
  • Representing the company at meetings to discuss strategic issues with regulators, stakeholders and customer groups as necessary.
 

Knowledge and Skills

 
  • Relevant educational qualifications, including a degree, equivalent or relevant experience in a numerate or technical discipline.
  •                
  • A valid driving licence is essential.
  •                
  • Strong analytical reasoning, planning, project management and strategic thinking capabilities, negotiating skills, influencing skills, financial/economic skills.
  •                
  • Good team working skills to form excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  •                
  • Strong communicator and influencer to help develop and promote strategic programmes and initiatives, ensuring engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
  •                
  • The role holder will possess knowledge of Rainwater Management interventions, including Sustainable drainage expertise (SuDS) & Nature Based Solutions (NBS), but also an understanding of Drainage, Flood Risk and the Water Industry in general.
