The Smart Metering project is a new but extremely important initiative for Affinity Water. This is a key role within the new Smart Metering team, responsible for ensuring we can maximise the benefits for our customers, our environment, and our business from the installation of smart meters. The postholder will report to the Head of Smart Metering, under the Asset Strategy & Capital Delivery Directorate.

We are currently seeking an experienced Programme Delivery Manager to assume a pivotal role within our Smart Metering Programme team. Reporting to the Head of Smart Metering, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational delivery aspects of the programme, ensuring effective execution and achievement of objectives.

Your expertise as a Programme Delivery Manager will play a vital role in ensuring the success and efficiency of our Smart Metering Programme, contributing to the overall success of Affinity Water's initiatives in this area

Experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as, Project Management, Business Administration, Science, Engineering
  • Project / Programme Management Qualification (APM, PMP, Prince2).
  • Health & Safety qualifications: NEBOSH and CDM
  • Understanding of stakeholder management principles and experience in effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders to achieve programme objectives
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project or programme management, preferably within the utilities or Smart Metering sector 
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex programmes, including oversight of multiple delivery partners and coordination of end-to-end delivery from installation to completion 
  • Experience in managing health and safety compliance within field operations, with a demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture of safety excellence
  • Understanding of stakeholder management principles and experience in effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders to achieve programme objectives
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and techniques to identify, assess,
    plan, and manage project risks
