Site Supervisor

Salary – £27,417 to £32,256 per annum dependent on experience (plus benefits)

Hours – 37.5hours per week, 8.00am to 4.00pm

Postcode of depot – LN6 9BT

The Site Supervisor will ensure the sites are run according to the site permits or closed site permits. You will ensure that landfill sites are operated in an efficient and safe manner with proper regard to environmental compliance, customer service levels and the needs of the local community.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week. However, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

What will you be doing?

- Ensuring that the sites are operated in compliance with all relevant Company and statutory Health and Safety requirements, including accident and incident investigation and acting appropriately on near misses and safety alerts.
- Monitoring and controlling landfill restoration operations to ensure the achievement of budgeted revenue, operating profit and cash targets.
- Manage Purchasing.
- Ensuring that all inputs of soils & IBA are booked onto the electronic weighbridge system GLADIS (if required) in a timely manner, and samples are taken and processed as to the appropriate plans.
- Maintaining accurate records of metals that have been sent off-site.
- Carrying out regular inspections of the security and management systems of sites and taking remedial action where necessary.
- Agreeing and monitoring cell capping completion in conjunction with the Regional Engineer.
- Agreeing the process and placement of soil and other restoration material with the Regional Engineer and restoration team and ensuring correct profiles.
- Managing the Engineering and Restoration teams in the completion of the Site by reviewing tender documents, attending pre-contract meetings and controlling contractors on-site.
- Carrying out inductions of temporary labour, contractors and visitors to the sites, maintaining the appropriate paperwork.

What are we looking for?

- Educated to a sufficient standard with good experience in the operational management of landfills.
- Relevant CMS, or the ability to work towards this qualification within 12 months.
- Strong reputation for consistent delivery of projects on time and to budget within a demanding environment.
- Knowledge of processing equipment, screens, conveyor belts, eddy currents, etc.
