Salary: up to £26,000 per Annum

We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, amongst other we are working on an IMT Contract, and we're looking for a Site Operative to join our Telecoms team in Ipswich.

We are now recruiting for a Site Operative to join our Utilities team to work with emerging technologies to maintain 24,000 cell site installations, 65,000km of gas infrastructure, and install 1,000,000 metres of fibre optic cable every year.

What you'll be doing:

You will be responsible for ensuring that detailed test, inspection, and condition surveys of mobile phone infrastructure and their associated equipment are undertaken along with the completion of minor remedial work where required under the supervision of a Team Leader.

This role will include the participation of works at height to check the condition of the tower-mounted equipment and proprietary fall arrest systems as well as the production of detailed and accurate written reports relating to the inspection/survey and their release in a timely manner with photographic evidence.

We are seeking candidates who:

  • It would be advantageous to have previous site experience, ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent, but not essential.
  • For this role you will need to have a working knowledge of basic IT systems as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • You will have to be comfortable with working at height.
  • It would be preferable to have a full UK Driving Licence.
