Site Engineer

We are looking for a Site Engineer to join our team based at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth

Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth
Business Area: Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks - Major Projects
Contract: Full Time, Permanent. Hybrid working and some flexibility available
Additional: Subsistence & Disturbance payments available


As a Site Engineer, you will be working within the Kier team, supporting the refurbishment of Devonport Dockyards Royal Navy submarine maintenance programme.

Your day to day will include:

  • Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings
  • Assist in establishing effective systems to record work completed updating the Project Quality Plan accordingly
  • Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc
  • Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks and checking that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly
  • Completing Daily Diaries

What we are looking for

This role of Site Engineer is great for you, if:

  • Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable - one or more of: BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, Completion of Higher Apprenticeship
  • Familiar in Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical & digital levels) for Setting Out & Survey, familiar with Quality Management System and familiar in writing RAMS
  • Proven people and project management skills and team leader with organisational skills
