Job Purpose

 

As a Senior Trade Effluent Analyst you will be responsible for coaching and upskilling Trade Effluent Analysts (TEA) and the wider Trade Effluent team to ensure market responses include the required information and are of a good qualitative standard. You will also be responsible for formulating and shaping performance data for the TE Function including the TE scorecard. You will also be responsible for validating and the submission of TE calculators

 

This role requires specialist trade effluent and business market services knowledge to support the wider trade effluent team, and other teams within UU wholesale, including Wholesale Market Services.

 

Job Accountabilities

 
  • Responsible for improving the customer experience of TE
  •                
  • Act as a deputy for the Market Performance Lead
  •                
  • Support the process, and act as a deputy for TE Regulatory Reporting
  •                
  • Provide guidance, training and support to the Trade Effluent Analysts
  •                
  • Monitor OPS / MPS performance and be responsible for liaising with Market Services on any failures
  •                
  • Undertake Quality audits on market cases to ensure responses meet expectations as well as suggesting areas for improvement
  •                
  • Produce and analyse trade effluent data for the team, including a Trade Effluent scorecard
  •                
  • Support the process for gathering the annual charging data for the Market Operating system. Ensuring that all of the data is correct and representative for each trader record (DPID)
  •                
  • Writing and developing instructions and guidance notes for TE processes, and briefing these to the wider team.
  •                
  • Conduct audits to ensure that TE processes are being understood and followed, and implement improvements based on findings
  •                
  • Validate the submission and content of TE allowance cases and TE calculators and Liaise with Business Market Services on data and revenue issues
  •                
  • Develop the TE team’s understanding of market systems (CMOS/WALTO) and Wholesale charge calculations.

  • Provide Trade Effluent data to all parts of the business, through AdHoc requests
 

Knowledge and Skills

 
  • Detailed knowledge, expertise and experience of trade effluent and TE Wholesale charging is required
  •                
  • Educated to HNC or Degree level is preferred but not essential
  •                
  • Good knowledge of the regulations covering trade effluent and market codes is required
  •                
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to deliver clear messages to all levels within the company
  •                
  • Experience of working within timescales and to strict deadlines
  •                
  • high standards of accuracy and problem solving, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to go further to understand the underlying causes
  •                
  • Ability to retrieve and interrogate data from UU Business systems such as TEMS, WALTO, JIRA, CMOS
  •                
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and capable of working and delivering their own initiatives
  •                
  • Good numeracy and IT skills (Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other office applications)
