MEP Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a MEP Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us at Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth where we are the preferred contractor to carry out heavy civil engineering construction in and around the Royal Navy dockyard.

Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth
Business Area: Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks - Major Projects
Contract: Full Time, Permanent + Car / Car Allowance (Subsistence packages on offer to be discussed with Recruiter)

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Build bias MEP Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our major projects Devonport team, supporting them with the redevelopment of 10 dock at Devonport Dockyard supporting the Royal Navy's submarine maintenance programme.

Your day to day will include:

  • Management of a £40m MEP package of works on a Nuclear licensed site including the management of a team of junior QS' mentoring and nurturing their development to assist with the following tasks where applicable.
  • Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets and KPI's are met / exceeded.
  • Ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are made and received on time.
  • Preparation and review of monthly cost reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
  • Forecasting and monitoring spend against approved Client budgets.

What we are looking for?

This role of MEP Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you, if:

  • Fully converse and experience of NEC Contracts
  • Experience with the use of CEMAR desired but not essential
  • Experience working with Coins / Causeway accounting systems.
  • Team player and working with a highly skilled diverse team.
