  • Work closely and collaboratively with technical, commercial teams and all project stakeholders to ensure that project timescales and objectives are met.
  • Own the management of risk, issues and change in a fully transparent manner through effective reporting and escalation. Accuracy and focus on a “no surprises” are key to success, as is anticipation and early mitigation of risk.
  • Work collaboratively with the communications team to define a communications plan for the project.
  • Effective liaison and interface with relevant town planning authorities as well as all key internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth running and timely project delivery.
  • Drive project-wide continuous improvement and delivering against stretching targets.
  • Influence key internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
  • An engineering or other relevant degree and chartered status; ideally with a post-graduate business or project management qualification.
  • Broad water industry and business knowledge, detailed knowledge and experience of delivering major complex projects with a regulated infrastructure environment; water industry-specific would be preferable.

  • Knowledge and experience of delivering projects in an infrastructure regulatory environment.
  • A track record of managing successful relevant activities, e.g. major capital engineering infrastructure projects, you will be confident in demonstrating your capability with risk-based and analytical decision making.
  • Excellent leadership skills across multi-disciplined teams as well as excellent communication skills; in particular, presentation of the business case and project strategies at a level necessary to satisfy appropriate governance.
  • Self-starting, resilient and tenacious under pressure, with a desire to successfully deliver projects to time, cost and quality.
  • Experience in delivery projects through full planning and environmental impact assessment is strongly desirable.
  • A great team player with the ability to work collaborative in a challenging project environment, who is fully competent at using the appropriate company IT systems.
