Senior Operations Manager

Location: Lincoln (Central)

Have you ever considered what it takes to run the largest water company in the UK?

Can you imagine yourself being an influential member of a team helping to supply water and water recycling services to over 6 million customers?

Could you make key decisions that help us improve the service we offer and deliver against our organisational goals - across thousands of sites and £billion worth of assets?

We're continually looking at how we can improve the service we offer to our customers and how we can deliver against our organisational goals. If the answer is "yes" to the questions above, this is your exciting opportunity to become a key member of our Tactical Operations Team. You'll oversee all operational events, champion safety and compliance whilst pro-actively mitigating any adverse impacts on our customers and the environment. Leading a team of Operational Control Managers, Operational Restoration Technician and Alarm handlers, you'll act as an escalation point for all operational events, taking control of events that present a heightened risk to the business and optimise responses to minimise the reactive costs to a multimillion pound operating budget. Quite simply, it's a very important role, helping to influence performance against our goals by providing our business with strong and confident decision making capabilities.

As part of an experienced team working on a rotating shift pattern (early, late and night shift over 7 days per week) from our offices in Lincoln town centre, you'll receive a salary of circa £60,000 per annum along with a bonus, shift allowance, car or car allowance, private health for you and your family and lots more! A relocation package could be available if you are currently living outside the Lincoln area.

Our Chief Executive, Peter Simpson, says "These roles are pivotal to the success of our large operational business being the controlling mind over our entire region's water and water recycling services and we're looking for experienced and high performing operational managers. These key roles will provide an outstanding platform from which to make further progression within the business, and as such we will ensure you'll receive bespoke training, development, mentoring and support."

As an expert in your field, you'll have extensive specialist operational water industry knowledge, skills and experience. This is absolutely vital for you to make confident and informed decisions. Those powers of decision making will have been honed in an operational environment, along with the ability to confidently perform under pressure.

A strategic thinker able to positively engage with stakeholders across our business, you'll have the confidence to lead, coach and performance manage a team of experts. Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills, with the ability to present complex information to a non-specialised audience is also important - together with a flexible approach to rotating shift patterns. Some regulatory understanding and experience will also be beneficial.
