About the role


Senior Cyber Security Engineer, Warwick

We are seeking a talented Cyber Security Engineer, to be a key member of the Network Security Engineering Team within Cyber Security. You will have a strong understanding of security solutioning and design processes needed to enable and securely deliver resilient cyber security services.


You will work collaboratively with the engineering and architecture teams to ensure solutions and services are designed and adopted effectively, and be responsible for, but not limited to, performing maintenance and support functions associated with network and security systems.

Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for:


  • Working with the business, Product teams and users to define needs, identify problems, evaluating potential solutions, demonstrating and implementing improvements 
  • Performing analysis of network security needs, responsible for design, install, configuration and maintenance of network and security systems and applications
  • Building, managing, securing, maintaining, troubleshooting and administering Firewalls, Web- gateways, proxy 
  • Maintaining and administering perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems
  • Fault handling and escalation (identifying and responding to faults, liaising with 3rd party suppliers, handling escalation through to resolution)
  • Provisioning (IP assignment, network configuration, monitoring and graphing)
  • Maintenance of technical documentation of processes and procedures used throughout normal operations
  • Monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving complex network and computer system issues
  • Management of system performance, capacity, service quality.
  • Leading initiatives for the optimization and restructuring of network architecture
About you


You will have a strong track record of understanding customer needs, creating innovative outcomes to problems and delivering successful products, and be adept at working with users and groups at all levels to obtain requirements. You will be a critical thinker with an analytical mind-set and adept at evaluating opportunities to reach goals.

Technically, you will have knowledge and experience of MS O365, Jira, Confluence, and also be familiar with security networking technology domain expertise which includes: Network Security, Networking concepts, ports, protocols, firewalls, gateways, load balancers, IPS/IDS, design, architecture and/or operations and Network traffic analysis.
