Job Description

Role - Senior Billing Analyst

Salary - £31,232 - £41,958 per annum

Location - Solihull

You will be required to provide support to the Billing Service Managers to aid delivery of I&C Billing Services by timely and accurate billing of c.£5bn per annum. You will support the teams and managers to deliver the agreed billing KPI’s through provision of billing and industry expertise as well as conduct, validate and support back billing across legacy systems. The role also involves supporting initiatives across Billing and Accounts to reduce Credit/Rebills, help with efficiently controlling and minimising the unbilled and manage escalated queries. We really need someone who can also provide knowledge and expertise to the wider business and coach and support analysts to drive performance.


Billing Delivery and Exceptions

  • Provide support to Billing Service Manager to aid delivery of power and gas commodity and other products and services billing to plan
  • Conduct complex back billing adjustments in legacy system
  • Validate and support back billing adjustments in legacy systems, providing support and coaching to analyst as required
  • Validate and support microbusiness back-billing, assuring standards are adhered to across the team
  • Support initiatives across Billing and Accounts to reduce Credit/Rebills
  • Provide support to Billing Service Manager to efficiently control and minimise unbilled
  • Validate and support effective management of billing exceptions
  • Support to resolution billing queries passed from front office, the portal and digital journeys

Billing Data Quality

  • Ensure billing and data accuracy within the team
  • Ensure billing validation failures are understood and remediated within agreed timescales
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvements to quality of billing data, providing feedback to Billing Service Manager for customer facing segments, customers and metering

Team Support and Escalations

  • Identify coaching and upskilling opportunities across all team processes. Deliver coaching and upskilling to team analysts ensuring high process standards are maintained
  • Ensure billing query escalations are resolved within SLA, providing support to analysts and collaborating across Billing and Accounts when required
  • Support the team to escalate billing queries where resolutions are dependent on other business areas
  • Support Billing and Accounts and wider business with attending customer meetings when required
  • Managing Change
  • Operationally embed change initiatives, working with Billing Service Manager, Billing Solutions Design and Billing Optimisation and Assurance to drive efficiency and quality improvement

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of complex billing products and services in an Industrial & Commercial environment including understanding of industry charges, flex products, taxation and generation.
  • Ability to execute Billing strategy to meet customer, business and regulatory requirements. Experienced in working with complex customers groups to deliver solutions.
  • Ability to embed change and work with Billing Service Teams. Change informed by customer needs, efficiencies to improve cost to and industry change.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to balance tactical and strategic business priorities. Financial Control and Commercial Management skills including budget management, cost to and controls.
