We're looking for a Senior Policy Analyst to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of electricity distribution. What you'll be doing
We're seeking a Distribution Policy Analyst to help define the future of electricity distribution and drive meaningful change across our networks.
In this pivotal role, you'll analyse complex data, craft forward looking policy proposals, and support strategic decision making that underpins SPEN's regulatory success, commercial performance, and long term vision.
Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you'll ensure our policy positions are evidence based, innovative, and aligned with business priorities-making a direct impact on how we deliver smarter, cleaner, and more resilient energy systems.
You will:
Support the development and delivery of SPEN's regulatory strategy, including preparing robust consultation responses and ensuring SP Distribution meets its regulatory obligations.
Provide input on ad hoc regulatory and policy matters raised by the Distribution Policy Manager.
Contribute to any CMA or Judicial Review appeals processes as required.
Monitor the regulatory landscape by reviewing relevant publications and attending external events, reporting key insights to the Distribution Regulation team.
Work with the Distribution Policy Manager to lead and support engagement with Ofgem, external stakeholders, and governance groups on priority regulatory issues.
Support SPEN's distribution policy strategy for ED3, delivering high quality analysis and guidance to inform the ED3 business plan and ensure alignment with emerging regulatory expectations.
Track and interpret policy developments related to electricity distribution and the ED3 price control, influencing outcomes through participation in Ofgem and industry working groups.
Assist the business in preparing clear, evidence based regulatory submissions, including consultation responses, reopeners, and policy briefings, ensuring positions are well reasoned and strategically aligned.

You will work with, collaborate and influence multiple stakeholders at all levels - both internal and external including wider industry stakeholders, you will display excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade effectively. You will be able to prioritise and manage a very diverse and demanding workload.
