SCADA / Comms Technician

We are seeking to strengthen our Engineering Department by adding a dedicated individual to support our team of Engineers. If you possess excellent fault-finding skills and a strong technical understanding, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities


Install, commission and maintain our substation control systems (SCADA).


You'll be familiar with data networks and assist with various fault finding and installations of network equipment.


Carry out protection maintenance on the 11kV system.


Be proficient in interpreting and following schematic drawings.


Train towards becoming Authorised Person (AP) for 11kV switching.


Be able to perform fibre optic cable splicing and to assist with general work on the fibre network, such as re-routing of fibres and patching in patch panels.


Assist the plant maintenance teams, if needed, with repairs and modifications to plant


Panel wiring in substations


Install and commission Flex DSL modems on our Smart Metering network.





Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


Time served as craftsperson to C&G level 2 or equivalent


Good general computer literacy.


Excellent analytical, problem solving and fault finding skills


Electrical wiring certificates advantageous


Knowledge of control systems / door access / alarms systems would be advantageous.


Level of Experience


At least 3 years' experience in a diverse engineering environment
