Job Description

Our team of Quantity Surveyors are critical to the cost-effective execution of our business and as one of our Quantity Surveyors you’ll learn from the best in our Commercial team.

We do what we say

That’s why we need people like you to help us deliver on our promises. People who enjoy getting things done with a focus on cost controls and profitability.

The Role

This lead role puts you in control of our Water Recycling Network contract compliance, providing commercial support to the operational team and ensuring the correct allocation and reporting of costs to both Clancy and the alliance.

We’ll look to you to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders, from both the wider commercial and operational teams, to facilitate smooth communications and information transfers. You’ll be helping us to manage business opportunities and emerging risks, which means that we’ll be making good use of your knowledge and understanding of construction and contract law.

We’re looking for excellent stakeholder managers and true collaborators, who inspire others to do the same and these are just some of the activities you’ll get involved in:

  • Accurate and timely production of budgets and forecasts, including weekly/monthly forecasts, analysis and performance reporting
  • Support the identification and management of financial and commercial risk, using risk and opportunity management tools
  • Present data and reports at relevant stakeholder meetings
  • Manage the Water Recycling Networks sub-contractors and development of your Assistant QS

We’d love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following

We’ll take it as read that you are an excellent communicator and problem solver. Our QS team colleagues need to be prompt in identifying risks and resolving any problems, as well as identifying and escalating issues which require additional input from the senior team. This environment will test your resilience, just as much as your commercial capability and Excel skills.

Relevant professional qualification e.g., RICS, CIOB, ICE or a degree in construction or commercial management would be a bonus.

Our Company

Every day we work smarter, greener and use our imaginations.

Our purpose at Clancy is simple - we make life better for everyone’s growing families. We play a vital role in providing fresh drinking water and power to millions of homes and businesses and so much more.

We are one of the biggest family owned construction businesses in the UK and we care about our people, our clients and the environment.

What Next

You apply, and we respond within two weeks (we know how annoying it is not to hear anything back)! If you don’t receive feedback within that timescale, please don’t be afraid to chase us - one of our values is to do what we say we will do!

Benefits

In addition to helping you reach your career goals, a competitive salary, pension, healthcare and holiday allowance starting at 24 days per annum, we also offer perks including Clancy Xtras, our employee benefits programme with discounts for numerous well-known retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Currys PC World and Vue Cinemas, cycle to work scheme as well as an Employee Assistance Programme.

Clancy is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all our employees. If you require any reasonable adjustments to be made for you to attend an interview, please do let us know and we will be happy to accommodate.
