At E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) UK, we are leading the way in the UK's energy transition, playing a pivotal role in achieving net zero. We specialise in delivering innovative, sustainable energy infrastructure, including heat networks that provide efficient, low-carbon heating solutions to communities and businesses. With our projects, we are reducing carbon footprints and driving forward the shift to cleaner energy. Join us and be part of a team that’s not just imagining a greener future but actively building it.
We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to ensure our projects meet the highest quality and compliance standards, from initial design through to commissioning.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of developing, improving, and implementing the EIS Construction and Major Projects Quality Management System. You’ll assess and validate quality aspects of project deliverables, coordinate Quality Assurance (QA) activities, and oversee the Quality Plan (QP) and Quality Management Plan (QMP). You’ll also have the authority to support decisions regarding design and construction quality.
Beyond project oversight, you’ll play a key role in shaping our approach to quality by developing QA checks, inspections, templates, and guidance to enhance understanding across the business. Your work will be critical in ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act, and the Golden Thread standard.
If you’re passionate about quality, compliance, and making a meaningful impact in the energy sector, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure every design not only meets but exceeds regulatory and safety standards, driving excellence from concept to completion
- Develop and maintain a quality framework for engineering projects, incorporating best practices such as Quality by Design (QbD) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Partner with cross-functional teams—including engineering, construction, and suppliers—to embed quality at every project stage
- Evaluate and approve suppliers, collaborating effectively with Procurement and Commercial teams to ensure materials and services meet specified quality standards.
- Lead quality assurance activities on-site, attending pre-construction and construction meetings, conducting inspections, supervising quality tests, and ensuring construction practices align with quality objectives.
- Monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to project standards, providing feedback, and enforcing quality requirements.
- Develop and manage Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs), ensuring each phase of construction meets required quality standards from materials inspection to commissioning
- Play a pivotal role throughout the project lifecycle—from early design reviews to final commissioning—"ensuring quality is built in, not just inspected at the end."
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, guiding root cause analyses, and supporting teams in applying quality best practices.
- Navigate complex regulatory landscapes, ensuring projects meet UK and EU standards (e.g., ISO 9001, Building Safety Act), while influencing best practices across the business.
