We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Energy Infrastructure Services (EIS) business based at our Oldham/Rochdale depot. Here you will lead a team to ensure the safe and effective delivery of all external Highways Lighting Maintenance programmes within the Calderdale region. That will mean guaranteeing that all operations comply not just with our own safety guidelines, but also with NRSWA regulations and all relevant environmental legislation.


The post holder’s responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a continual focus financial management and overhead cost reduction 
  • Manage agreed 4 year term maintenance contract with Calderdale local authority
  • Actively seek new business and complete tenders for future projects in the northern region
  • Drive performance to ensure activity meets all time cost and quality targets required by the business including environmental requirements
  • Match resource capacity to volumes to optimise resources and drive productivity
  • Manage the local sales activity seeking opportunities to both maintain and grow existing Highways Lighting Business
  • Ensuring all Highways delivery activity is managed and executed in a safe manner meeting the company’s time, cost and quality objectives
  • Ensure all activity meets internal and external environmental legislation & standards
  • Building relationships with External Civil Service Providers supporting the activity


  • An ONC or equivalent in a relevant engineering or business / management discipline
  • An understanding of the engineering, technical  and operational requirements relating to the Street Lighting industry
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work across multiple workstreams at the same time
  • A strong track record of delivery of performance targets, including customer service
  • Personal drive and the ability to motivate others
  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders across all levels, both internally and externally
  • An understanding of management accounting
