As a key role within the ScottishPower Renewables construction team which will focus on the delivery of large-scale renewables projects, the Project Manager will take lead responsibility for the delivery of renewable projects ensuring value to the business is maximised within acceptable risk parameters.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Lead Project Manager, you will undertake line management responsibilities in accordance with business requirements, leading and managing multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure projects are on programme and within budget.
Leading and recommending appropriate commercial strategies to the Lead Project Manager in a structured and robust manner, you will also provide input to all commercial agreements and contracts, ensuring project risks are mitigated.
Ensuring all key decisions are supported by sufficient due diligence and investigation, you will be required to manage the production of design and build specifications, manage tender assessments and coordinate with external suppliers and contractors to ensure delivery specifications are met.
Managing interfaces between the main contractors, you will resolve contractor claims, manage technical advisors/consultants as appropriate and review/monitor contractors' progress against the programme to ensure key project milestones are achieved.
Additional responsibilities will include:

Managing and holding project budget delivery responsibility for individual projects ensuring budgets are delivered

Managing the process of regular meetings, communications and reports to the Lead Project Manager, which provide accurate and timely information to support their understanding of strategic risks, issues, opportunities, impacts and progress

Managing and actively identifying all critical risks, issues and impacts of the project specifically the adequate application of, and adherence to, both statutory and corporate health, safety and environmental requirements

Utilising and effectively implementing the standard ScottishPower Renewables project management tools on all projects

Managing and ensuring all deliverables meet operational requirements

At short notice, acting upon and delivering ad-hoc projects without losing focus on major ongoing projects

Participating in lessons learnt sessions to continually improve business practices and processes
What you'll bring
Educated to degree standard in an Engineering discipline, you will possess extensive Project Management / Construction Management experience with the ability to understand commercial contracts and negotiations.
Utilising your understanding of technical due diligence, you will be required to translate technical detail into commercial impact and implement your Health & Safety management skills - NEBOSH qualification preferred.
