Job Purpose

 

Reporting to the Energy & Carbon Services Manager, this role will lead the day-today management and integration of our operational energy and carbon management programme.  Key activities include: 

 
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships and implementation of energy and carbon performance management services to the operational business
  •            
  • Lead business tracking and presentation of energy and carbon outcomes for the operational business
  •            
  • Define and prioritise activities to support business development of energy & carbon projects
  •            
  • Lead delivery of content for monthly working groups with operational and CEC business stakeholders
  •            
  • Evolve and develop the energy and carbon operational service to meet future business goals and targets

Job Accountabilities

 
  • Manage day to day delivery of the UU operational energy and carbon management programme working across the organization with. operational engineers, energy and carbon officers and wider operational energy leads.
  •            
  • Lead monthly energy business meetings for each business area (Water, Wastewater and other business areas) to ensure services and outcomes are delivered.
  •            
  • Develop and plan energy and carbon management programme for future years. To include developing targets, service needs, capabilities and forming integrated programme for sign off with business stakeholders.
  •            
  • Develop UU energy and carbon management brand that supports future opportunity and demonstrates leaderships within the Water Sector and more widely.
  •            
  • Communicate energy management activity and benefits realisation to the wider organisation to build the profile of energy services and improve stakeholder engagement.
  •            
  • Facilitate the development of the capability within energy services by conducting gap analysis and review of skills and training requirements both within the team and for relevant roles in the organisation (e.g. energy leads)
  •            
  • Work with operational teams to develop projects from inception to creation of invest to save business cases for sign off at programme board.
  •            
  • Work with Energy &; Carbon Programme Management capability to report progress on project delivery and outcomes for energy and carbon invest to save projects.
  •            
  • Track benefits realisation to ensure value is demonstrated and sustained.
  •            
  • Manage other project coordinators, as required, within the BEF team to:
  •            
  • Prioritise work to business needs.
  •            
  • Ensure quality of work is as required for stakeholders.
 

Knowledge and Skills

 
  • Project management skills and wider programme management capabilities
  •            
  • Good knowledge of UU systems and project controls
  •            
  • Experience in managing energy assets.
  •            
  • Good knowledge of energy regulation and policy
  •            
  • Ability to communicate and influence senior stakeholders.
  •            
  • Experience of project development from concept to business case submission
  •            
  • Experienced in engagement and awareness programmes to deliver continuous improvement.
  •            
  • Proven capability of working with complex stakeholder groups to gain common focus and outcomes
  •            
  • Good excel skills and ability to review and analyse data.
  •            
  • An understanding of business risk management is desirable.
