Job Purpose
We have a great opportunity for a Production Planning Analyst to join our Production Planning team. The Production Planning team is pivotal in the management and optimisation of the regional water supply system.
Your role as Production Planning Analyst will be to calculate the Power and Chemicals OPEX costs of running the regional water supply system, providing marginal costs specific to site whilst tracking and monitoring overall water production. You'll also assist in the development and implementation of an optimised Water Production Plan within the regional aqueduct and LDTM system. This will also include Outage Planning.
Job Accountabilities
- To liaise with Procurement and Energy teams to obtain up to date costs of power and chemicals used in water treatment and distribution.
- To assist in the development and management, of the Chemical and Power budgets Circa £45Million plus.
- Monthly Variance reporting to Finance and Water treatment managers with regard to Chemical and Power budgets.
- To develop and manage systems to monitor and ensure continuity of water supply. Taking into account water resources, outages and demand.
- To provide technical and analytical during significant events and incidents.
- Power and Chemicals Budget Preparation and Variance Monitoring.
- To maintain and administer the Production Outage Permit system.
- To maintain and administer the Water Budget and associated tools.
- To further develop and embed the MISER modelling tool.
- To assist in future development of Water Production Data.
- To use relevant data sources to calculate the marginal unit rates of operating water treatment works & pumping stations.
Knowledge and skills
- Understanding of the issues concerning the operation of Water Supply as a whole, including treatment, pumping, hydraulics, water quality standards and QA.
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework within which the Water business operates.
- Knowledge of cost drivers for the business.
- Oral and written communication, report and procedure writing, organising and decision making.
- Ability to use a wide range of computer systems.
- Ability to work on own initiative with little supervision but also work to well in a team.
