The Principal Installation Manager will be tasked to coordinate technically the professionals delivering Transport and Installation of WTG Foundations and Substations across the Offshore Wind portfolio. From planning at early stages, tendering, contract negotiation and management of execution, up to handover to O&M; ensuring safety, technical consistency, synergies, quality, etc.
All the above while ensuring quality, best practices and excellent H&SE performance are applied.
The individual will be working as part of a global business with activities in many countries across Europe and the rest of the world. The position may require frequent travel to various locations in the UK and overseas and during development, contracting and delivery of installation. The individual should be prepared to work with teams at different locations.

Main responsibilities will include:
⦁ To proactively coordinate technically the structures installation matters across the portfolio, by engaging with the installation managers assigned to the projects.
⦁ Line management of Installation Managers assigned to structures installation, including objectives, performance evaluation, training, career development, etc.
⦁ Production and constant update of corporate procedures.
⦁ Management of the Lessons Learned process for Structures Installation.
⦁ Champion Health and Safety for offshore structures installation across the portfolio.
⦁ To support projects on structures installation issues as required, for example signing off technical documentation on behalf of the department.
⦁ To lead the recruitment processes for staff.
⦁ To lead the operation of the frameworks with consultants to provide services and supply secondments (external professionals).
⦁ To acquire a high level of understanding of the site conditions and configuration of the projects in the portfolio, in order to be able to provide ad-hoc support.
⦁ To deliver directly for structures installation of projects in early stage, where dedicated installation managers are not assigned.
⦁ To arrange coverage during planned and unplanned absences of structures installation managers.
⦁ To coordinate with the R&D areas of the company for the initiatives related to structures installation.
⦁ To develop in house knowledge on key structures installation matters, including but not limited to: heavy lifting, port operations, vessel operations, pile driving and drilling, noise modelling, monitoring and mitigation, grouting, etc.
⦁ To manage and document supply chain engagement processes as required.
⦁ To review and provide recommendations regarding the T&I Contractor proposals, including but not limited to transport plan, lift plans/ drawings, installation sequences, weather limitations, weather down time estimations, etc., and confirm compliance with the available codes and standards (including MWS).
⦁ Attendance to supervise and monitor Contractor's activities at fabrication yard, mobilisation port(s) and offshore site.
⦁ General technical and management support to activities related to Iberdrola's Offshore Wind business, as required.
⦁ Assess Health, Safety and the Environmental regulatory, Consenting and legal compliance.

Skills and Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need to bring as a minimum:
⦁ Educated to Degree level in relevant engineering discipline preferably Naval Architecture or Civil Engineering.
⦁ Significant demonstrable experience in offshore installation operations. Preferably offshore wind, and specifically on structures installation, i.e. WTG foundations, monopiles, pre-piled jackets, substation jackets and top-sides). Experience at package manager level or equivalent.
⦁ Proven track record of safely managing the execution of complex offshore works in hazardous marine environments.
⦁ Working knowledge and understanding of: UK and European Health and Safety legislation relevant to offshore structures and marine operations; Standards/regulations and best practices on heavy lifting, maritime transport and offshore installation, especially N001/02 Marine Operations and Marine Warranty.
⦁ Working knowledge and understanding of: Construction planning/ Estimations/ Risk Management/ Management of interfaces of multidisciplinary teams spread across multiple locations
⦁ Ability to implement quality assurance and environmental processes.
⦁ IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management software.
⦁ Commercial awareness

What we offer
This is a Permanent Full-time contract. Salary for this role will be min. from £73840 per annum, annual Bonus up to 30%, car allowance and health insurance family coverage.
