Role - Pricing Analyst

Salary - £30,031 - £40,344

Location - Solihull

The pricing team is responsible for all bespoke pricing in C&S (Corporate & Strategic), for both gas and power, flex and fixed products. In addition there are a large number of complex pieces of customer specific commercial analysis that are produced by the team. 

  • Manage the pricing of all customers within the C&S portfolio.
  • Understand the complex requirements of each customer and ensure that we are pricing according to the customers contract.
  • Use customer knowledge and strong commercial skills to maximise the value delivered by each deal.
  • Given the high materiality of customers within this segment, it is critical that all work is accurate and error free.
  • Timely delivery of all pricing activity, delivering to customers deadlines and also contractual requirements.
  • Prioritise and escalate tight deadlines to meet customer requirements, ensuring that all work is delivered on time according to the customers’ expectations.
  • Communication with all relevant stakeholders, continuous proactive engagement with Sales within C&S. This should be with an aim to engage, influence and understand requirements. Ensuring we are delivering the right piece of work the first time. Ensuring that every piece of work produced is the best for the customer and the company.
  • All work produced is accurate and contractually compliant, utilising sign off sheets, Deal Information Sheets and contracts to ensure all prices and adhoc pieces of work we produce are error free.
  • Accountable for checking own work and others. Completing all work to a high standard with no mistakes. Avoiding unnecessary financial penalties and damage to the company’s reputation.
  • Work to process at all times and actively update processes where appropriate.
  • Support the wider pricing team, to deliver on the more complex and involved pieces of work. Support Senior Analysts and Pricing Manager to deliver to deadlines.
  • Capability to sense check complex work, utilising knowledge of the business and industry to ensure all work completed is accurate and using the latest non commodity costs.
  • Ensure no negative impact to the brand, high renewal rate and a high conversion rate of opportunities.

  • Proven exposure to dynamic, commercial environments with a track record of ongoing success.
  • Of graduate calibre with technical or vocational qualifications and experience to match the needs of the role. e.g. Mathematics, Business Studies, Finance etc
  • An understanding of the UK Energy Market including wholesale, retail, renewables, distribution, conservation and generation market spaces
  • Strong understanding of I&C flexible supply contracts and approved product suite.
  • Analytical ability, commercial and financial awareness. 
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex, multiple sources of data.
  • High levels of initiative to ensure that the process flows smoothly and mistakes are minimised
  • PC literacy – including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and a range of in-house systems
