Portfolio Performance Manager, Permanent, Warwick/Hybrid

This is an exciting key leadership role within National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET), specifically within our Network Strategy and Operations (NSO) function. 

NSO is at the heart of the NGET business, providing end-to-end strategic, engineering and planning leadership to deliver strong business performance while meeting the needs of our customers and our sustainability commitments. 

We are looking for a talented Portfolio Performance Manager to join us who wants to be at the heart of the clean energy transition and who are passionate about being at the forefront of driving change and transformation in our business.

This Portfolio Performance Manager will control the NGET work portfolio through your team of Portfolio Controllers and Analysts, ensuring the work plans for each department enable the successful delivery of our RIIO-T2 outputs & commitments. 

You will manage the work plan through effective change control activities and processes, ensuring that changes to our work plan have suitable justification.

Data quality will be one of your key accountabilities - you will measure and report on data quality in our core systems and ensure delivery units are appropriately held to account before changes are enacted which may have wider portfolio impacts. You will quantify the impact of changes on a portfolio level and provide insight to internal stakeholders.

You will also have the opportunity to report our portfolio narrative to Ofgem and other external stakeholders.   

You’ll ll have the opportunity to work from home, work at our head office in Warwick and also travel to National Grid sites across the country to see the work we do first-hand. 

About you


We are looking for an individual with a proven track record demonstrating consultative, facilitation and decision-making skills, and the ability to build positive relationships at a senior level both internally and externally. Expert presentation and influencing skills are required, as is experience leading and developing a varied and diverse team, as these roles value diversity of thought whilst problem solving.

Importantly, we are looking for a talented individual who has proven experience of delivering effectively through others and who can demonstrate capability and leadership skills.

Previous experience of working with customers, and a good understanding of commercial and regulatory factors that affect the electricity industry, its consumers, NGET and its customers will be an advantage.

  • A salary of £60,000 - £70,000 – dependant on capability 
  • Annual Performance Based Bonus of up to 15% of your base salary 
  • 37 hour week, with Hybrid working model between Home and Office
