Purpose
The Pipeline Planning Manager is a critical role within the SPT Programme Management Office (PMO) team in Technical Services, ensuring visibility and governance of all new projects in the RIIO-T2 and Customer Connection investment programme.
As Pipeline Planning Manager, you will be responsible for ownership of the funnel for all T2 projects within the T2 Program, identifying the planning requirements for Customer Connection projects and ensuring these are captured by the Programme Planning team. This will require the development of a strong interface with key departments across SPT and other directorates within SPEN.
Attendance and input to the SRG and IRG governance meetings will form a key aspect of this role, as will the visibility of all plans associated with non SPT Projects activities within T2 Programme, such as Network Operations and Future Networks.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the development of a governance process to ensure all projects and deliverables relating to baseline and customer programmes are captured to meet the needs of all necessary stakeholders
Accountable for ensuring the information within this process is accurate and representative of the real-time status, enabling data to be collated by the Reporting & Analysis team within the PMO
Accountable for maintaining a TOCO tracker to assist resource forecasting and attending TECA meetings
Maintain the LMS tracker to ensure new projects are grouped in the most efficient manner by interacting with the SPT Engineering and Delivery teams
Responsible for ensuring that new contracted customer works have captured all associated enabling works before being passed into the Live programme portfolio
Participate in weekly TOCO planner meetings to record any changes to Customer Connection Offers
Take ownership of all projects before they become Live in the SPT portfolio clustering/bundling these projects to ensure they will be delivered in the most efficient manner
Support in the creation of a project data warehouse to ensure that the project info held within the PMO is the single source of truth
Collaborate on a peer to peer basis with other managers within SPT Projects, particularly with the PMO and also the Head of Development and the PUM's within.
Identify at the earliest stage all planning requirements within the T3 Programme, ensuring visibility for all stakeholders, especially Senior Management
From a detailed knowledge of the T2 project funnel identify any potential conflict with existing programme deliverables, leading discussion to enable resolution
Ensuring that a clear understanding of basic project scope and requirements (outages, delivery dates etc) are understood at the earliest opportunity, before maturing into the programme pipeline
Ensure Pipeline Planning team operates in full compliance with the SPT Projects Integrated Management System.
Responsible for the career development of the Pipeline Planning team, providing suitable coaching and mentoring for the growth of individuals
Lead with openness, honesty and professionalism and strive to maximise the input and effectiveness of key staff across the PMO and interfacing work streams, thus reducing the risks and operational cost to the business.
Contribute as an effective member of the Programme Management Office management team.
Skills and Requirements
Prior experience of a Programme Delivery environment similar in scale to that within SPT Projects
Possess high standard of planning and programme analysis skills
Experienced in distilling large amounts of complex data to present a concise summary containing the most pertinent information to colleagues and also to Senior Management up to Director level
Experienced in working in multi-disciplined teams at a professional level
Experienced in making balanced decisions, identifying and taking into account all relevant information recognising the benefit of consultation with stakeholders or peers to ensure effective and accurate reporting of information
Excellent collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders across a range of levels, including up to Director level
Knowledge of network and business data and network management systems
Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges
Minimum Criteria
Degree level qualification or equivalent relevant experience
IT systems - competent in Microsoft Office suite
Experienced in a programme delivery or project planning environment
