We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the role of Skilled Electrical Technician at our Huntingdon compressor station.

This is a key position in supporting the maintenance on the above-mentioned equipment, which will in turn ensure our high-pressure National Transmission System (NTS) is protected and maintained to the highest possible standards.  

Key Accountabilities 

Maintenance activities including inspection and repair of various Electrical equipment 
Focus on the operation and maintenance of the compressor station which includes aeroderivative gas turbine machinery trains, centrifugal compressors and associated plant & equipment.  
You will be undertaking electrical maintenance (Core Role) and some instrument maintenance 
Maintain accurate site records of maintenance, asset, operational and safe system of work for all work activities and operations undertaken, to ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulatory requirements 
Identify the requirement to replace/upgrade existing plant and equipment as well as participating in the design of minor modifications, and the provision of technical support within discipline and competencies as required 
Undertake site operations, including isolations and the use of our safe system of work 
Be a part of and support the construction and commissioning of new assets onto the gas transmission system and other non-load related projects in accordance with relevant policies and procedures 
Contribute to the development, review and update of emergency, security, safety, operational and environmental plans and procedures to ensure safe and cost effective operation of plant and equipment 
Oversee and inspect work activities undertaken by contractors and working party members where required to provide assurance that technical and safety compliance standards are being maintained and undertaken 
Ensure that the high-pressure pipeline system is protected, including the monitoring of third-party work, aerial sighting response and undertaking the competent person role associated with routine and low complex non-routine operational procedures 
On successful completion of required training you will participate in the Compressor Station emergency standby rota. This will bring additional payment

We are looking for a time served electrical technician, who has a working knowledge of legislative requirements and a proven background with electrical equipment. You'll be someone who has had exposure within a maintenance/operations environment. 

You’ll be a safety conscious individual, allowing you to work as part of a wider team and alone when required, to ensure we are working as effectively as possible. Someone who can communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders whilst maintaining a proactive and customer driven outlook within a fast-paced and varied environment.

Qualifications 

Time served electrical technician with SVQ/NVQ or equivalent qualification in the electrical discipline 
Educated to minimum of BTEC National Certificate (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, with relevant maintenance and/or operational experience 
Valid current driving licence

A competitive salary between £33,000 - £39,000 – dependent on capability alongside a access to a livered vehicle & shift allowances.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
