Job Description

Are you currently working as a Compliance Coordinator with experience in heavy mechanical equipment? If so, I have an exciting opportunity for you! As the Mechanical Compliance Coordinator, you will be responsible for essential back-office processes to ensure that statutory health and safety obligations and legislation inspect Thames Water’s mechanical assets.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in our office functions, helping to keep our communities and colleagues safe when using:
  • Lifting equipment.
  • Pressure systems.
  • Local exhaust and dilution ventilation systems.
  • Chemical tanks.
  • Roller shutter doors.
  • Metal racking.

What you’ll be doing as a Mechanical Compliance Coordinator
  • Prepare a three-month look-ahead report in collaboration with the inspecting organisation. Ensure that site operational teams are ready to meet inspection dates and address any scheduling issues.
  • Raises purchase orders, tracks supplier activities and work to completion and advises on goods receipting to line management.
  • Ensure scheduled works have been completed and follow up as required.
  • Maintain records to demonstrate company compliance.
  • Prepare reports for management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
  • Ensure that all stakeholders are aware of:
  • Current lookahead reports.
  • Inspection postponement process.
  • Requirements for preparation. (including the availability of certification documentation)
  • Keeping systems up to date with any changes or new inventory information.

Hybrid Clearwater Court - This role can be completed remotely and will only require, on average, 3-4 office visits a year to Clearwater Court, Reading.

Thirty-six hours a week, Monday through Friday.

What you should bring to the role
  • Worked as a technical or engineering Co-Ordinator in the transport, warehouse or utilities industry or where the use of large mechanical equipment was in place.
  • Confident in a back-office role, booking inspector appointments, preparing data reports and raising PO Numbers.
  • Analyse technical information and data and present findings to key stakeholders.
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Confident speaking to all levels of stakeholders internally and externally.
