Loader/Operative
Salary – £12.21 per hour
Hours – 40 hours per week, 7.15am to 16.00pm
Location – West Devon, Hayedown and Okehampton

As a Loader/Operative at FCC Environment, you will work as part of a collection crew and/or street cleansing team within our West Devon contract. You will help ensure our operations run smoothly and safely, contributing to high standards of service across the local community.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
• Work as part of a collection crew and/or street cleansing team
• Load waste and recyclables safely and efficiently onto collection vehicles
• Carry out assigned tasks and duties in line with all company policies and safety procedures
• Operate within safety and operational guidelines at all times
• Ensure all equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) is used correctly and maintained appropriately
• Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of your designated vehicle
• Report any unsafe practices, near-misses, or incidents to your line manager
• Undertake any duties or administration tasks as directed by local management
• Adopt a proactive approach to improving energy performance

What are we looking for?
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks
• Willing to work in all weather conditions
• Reliable, trustworthy and with good timekeeping
• Able to follow safety procedures and guidelines
• Positive attitude and a team player
• Knowledge of the West Devon area (desirable but not essential)
• No prior experience required — full training will be provided
