Location - Veolia, Newcastle upon Tyne area 

Hours - Full time, 43 hours per week

Apprenticeship programme 

During this 3-year programme, you will achieve a broad range of technical and professional experience, such as Level 3 BTEC, Level 3 NVQ and IOSH awareness. Training will consist of a combination of days at a local preferred partner Training Provider/College and on the job training at Veolia.

 We will help you to develop your practical skills and knowledge required for you to succeed in this role as well as your future career. Throughout this programme, you will continue to develop your behaviours such as team working, problem-solving and customer focus. Veolia as a business is not only interested in what you accomplish, but the manner you do it in.  

As well as gaining a broad range of technical and professional experience, you’ll also gain academic and vocational qualifications. 

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical isolations and repairs when required using safe systems of work. 

  • Carry out routine inspections and service plant and equipment in accordance with the planned preventative maintenance programme. 

  • Carry out minor plant modifications including pump and pipeline installation and assist with the commissioning of new plant and machinery. 

  • Assist with the maintenance of and updating of site risk assessments. 

  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner including permit to work and the accurate recording of maintenance.

  • Ensure that any remedial actions required after a breakdown are carried out accordingly. 

  • General stock control and ordering of spares as required using approved systems. 

  • Performing any other duties reasonably requested by management.


 What is required 

To be eligible for our Level 3  Mobile Multiskilled Technician Apprentice you will need a passion for contemporary environmental issues, an interest in Engineering, awareness of Health and Safety and strong motivation for the role. You will also need to meet our entry criteria:

  •  5 GCSE grade A*- C or grades 4 - 9 (or equivalent) including Maths, English and Science / Predicted grades.
  • Able to manage your time effectively and work as a part of the team.

  • IT Literate.

  • Good problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Driving Licence. 

Please bear in mind that this role will require you to travel across the region, therefore you need a driving licence and must be flexible.
