About the role:
Working as part of the Data Factory team, the purpose of this role is to lead the data platform engineers to own and develop the target data platform for Thames Water and the associated transitional states. You will need to own and lead the vision of how we create the centralised data capability which will take Thames Water to the next level of data maturity.
The role will evolve and manage the roadmap for the centralised data platform to bring together our silo data sets, automate, add security & structure and make data accessible to the business to drive insight lead decision making. Leveraging industry best practice while delivering changes, such as agile backlogs, code repositories, automated builds, testing and releases.
Using the cloud platform on Azure, expanding the framework, processes and business operating model with a scalable and repeatable approach. Alongside this, you will also need to devise the security model for dealing with data in accordance with GDPR and the business access control model to enable product teams can work in a structured manner. Leading the platform engineer team in the best way to do this.
A strong commercial focus is also required in this role to hold the business and development teams accountable, working within budget and your platform design framework.To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
