About the role
We’ve a great opportunity to become a Lead Architect in our IS team, who will lead and motivate a team of Architects for the development and documentation of solution designs to meet business requirements and outcomes to a level of detail suitable for implementation by technical and application delivery teams.
You’ll contribute to the overall IS strategy and governance, organising and developing your team in line with the IS Operating Model and establishing a strong culture of continual improvement and organisational agility. You’ll have accountability for managing your team to fulfil resource requests for both Operational and Product Delivery activities. You’ll provide effective prioritisation and scheduling of the team's work to ensure that activities are delivered within agreed timescales.
We’re looking for you to support the production and maintenance of product roadmaps within the IS function and to be responsible for the Architecture components of the IS Strategy and ensure that IS teams have clear direction and guidance on the Architecture Strategy.
You’ll guide your team to make technical decisions that are consistent with the capabilities and benefits, along with ensuring the delivery of cohesive technical solutions without unnecessary customisation. You’ll develop strong and effective relationships with industry peers and other stakeholders to ensure the organisation is at the forefront of best architectural practice and innovation. In the role you will be a key member of the Product Council supporting the decision making, preparation and justification of IS investment.
We’re looking for you to be a proven experienced leader, who is able to lead and motivate technical teams and influence wider business and programme teams to achieve demanding targets to deliver the programme in line with overall strategy.
You’ll be able to demonstrate your experience in participating in complex organisational change and have proven experience of influencing key individuals at all levels across the wider business.
We’re looking for you to have an understanding of the regulatory framework and key outputs, customer service and related policies. You’ll also have good planning skills and use of common planning and management tools, along with an understanding of enterprise architectural principles and practice.
You’ll ideally have exceptional analytical skills, along with proven knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft and equivalent technology roadmaps and other hardware manufacturer roadmaps too. You'll have proven skills in working in an Agile organisation and familiarity of the Agile Manifesto and how this can be applied to Solution Architecture, along with the proven experience to promote collaboration, coach and facilitate coordination of the various work streams to achieve the successful delivery of integrated technical solutions.
We're looking for you be able understand the technical risks, dependencies and issues that exist, be able to quantify these and the impact they may have on the programme and remediate as required, along with interpreting complex information with excellent analytical skills.
