We are looking to appoint a Junior level Regulatory Lawyer to join our in-house legal team. As part of our commitment to delivering high-quality water services to our customers, we need your expertise to ensure legal compliance and efficiency in the regulated and contractual / commercial aspects of our operations.

Your role will be to provide commercially aware legal advice and assistance in the regulatory and contractual spheres. It would be an advantage if you also have past experience of litigation matters. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Partnering: Assist the Senior Legal Counsel in providing legal support to various teams including Regulatory, Commercial, Operations, and Engineering.
  • Legal Advice: Offer guidance on regulatory, commercial, and contractual matters, tailored to meet the needs and objectives of the business.
  • Document Drafting: Prepare, review, and advise on a wide range of legal documents relevant to our regulated activities.
  • Strategic Support: Support the development of strategic resource options necessary to fulfil our statutory management and business plans.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Provide legal advice and assistance to ensure compliance with licence and regulatory requirements.
  • Contentious Matters: Offer support on all contentious and litigious matters, including environment, health, safety, and related issues.
  • External Legal Management: Assist in managing external legal advisers, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery of legal services.

Role Capabilities (Technical):

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years PQE with expertise in regulatory compliance, contracts/ commercial and litigation law.
  • Comfortable presenting to diverse stakeholders
  • IT Skills: Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Builds effective relationships, applies analytical and problem-solving skills, works autonomously with minimal supervision.
