Job Purpose

At United Utilities, we're committed to achieving integrated water management, creating lasting benefits for communities, the environment, and future generations. As part of our ambitious PR24 business plan (Stronger, Greener, Healthier North West), we're scaling up our efforts to deliver integrated water management through deeper collaboration with partner organisations such as local authorities, NGOs, landowners and flood risk management authorities.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of building and delivering that integrated approach  working across Cumbria and Lancashire to align plans, identify shared challenges and unlock innovative, partnership-led opportunities.

You'll need a good understanding of planning frameworks, nature-based solutions, and the value of partnership working. Strong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills are essential, as is a proactive mindset that can challenge the status quo and explore new ways of working.

If you're passionate about creating positive change and want to play a key role in delivering a more sustainable and collaborative approach to water management in the North West, we'd love to hear from you.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Interact with the relevant County hubs to ensure that key UU risk, issues and opportunities are integrated with those of partners to identify opportunities to deliver better value
  • Build and sustain relationships with key external partners who offer the greatest capability to integrate with the aim of delivering better value
  • Support the management of a partnership opportunity pipeline for UU to ensure there is a single place for visibility of emerging partnership projects that can be tracked through to delivery
  • Ensure that internal and external governance for integrated water management is adhered to
  • Work closely with those developing the WRMP, DWMP and WINEP to enhance the value delivered through the plans, the relevance to the place and the amount of partnership delivery
  • Ensure the benefits of IWM and partnership projects arising are tracked.
