Base location – Coventry, Derby and Northampton (Hybrid - flexible)

The Lighting & Grid business have decades of experience providing energy efficient street lighting solutions and grid connections across the UK.  From small scale projects to district lighting to new developments.

 

Here's what you will be doing

You will build and manage the team of Project Managers and Site Managers/Supervisors.

 

You will carry out management on LV to HV/EHV connections projects, ensuring cost effective, technically compliant schemes are constructed safely from conception through to construction and commissioning, including handover of completed project records and documentation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective individual and collective SHE leadership and promote enthusiastic SHE culture. Manage Safety through early development incorporating life cycle designs that minimise risk to personnel and in accordance with the business policy statement, corporate guidelines and statutory legislation.
  • Ensure compliance to NERS and CDM.
  • Manage the Projects Portfolio to meet the key program milestones and the requirements of the employer deliverables in line with agreed company procedures and best practice
  • Ensure the Project delivery team and individual projects are suitably resourced in line with workload and budget.
  • Responsible for approving the scope of works, the plan and the target cost for each element of the project the PM is assigned to. Providing clear leadership to the Project Teams and also controlling the activities of the Teams against budget.
  • Responsible for ensuring safe management and systems of work are deployed by all personnel involved on the project and accountable for establishing effective controls of the site construction activities.
  • Seek ways of optimising the resource plan in conjunction with the HO ICP and others. Drive performance, actively seeking to improve and optimise delivery methods. Provide a professional and consistent approach for the management and execution of major projects.
  • To work alongside and provide direct support to the commercial team to ensure robust project cost controls – managing the profit and loss to agreed margins.
  • Own the Projects company procedures and drive continuous improvement.
  • Establish working relationships with supply chain representatives to execute projects efficiently.
  • Carry out site inspections as appropriate and agree benchmarks on quality.


What we need from you
  • Significant and demonstrable Electrical Experience within ICP delivery of HV /EHV Networks.
  • Electrical Qualification – in electrical engineering or related discipline.
  • Excellent knowledge of CDM and NEC form contracts.
  • High level of experience in HV jointing.
  • Self-motivated, driven to achieve results, and able to motivate staff to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and Project.
  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills.
