At Jersey Electricity, we're searching for an experienced Health, Safety & Sustainability Business Partner to join our dedicated team. In this pivotal role, you'll report directly to the Head of Health, Safety & Sustainability, playing a key part in ensuring we comply with relevant regulatory standards and industry best practice. You'll be the go-to expert, providing vital health, safety, and environmental guidance across all areas of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Support Construction Safety: Provide expert guidance on construction-related activities, including lifting operations, working in excavations, noise, dust, and vibration assessments, and working at height.
- Champion H&S and Environmental Management: Support and enhance the Company's Health, Safety, and Environment Management System to ensure compliance and best practice in all areas of the business.
- Deliver Impactful Training: Arrange, coordinate, and deliver engaging employee and contractor inductions, along with preparing and delivering toolbox talks that resonate with your audience.
- Be a Key Voice in H&S Meetings: Attend Health & Safety meetings, take detailed minutes, and produce and issue them as needed to keep everyone informed and aligned.
- Drive Safety Excellence Through Audits: Conduct regular site audits and inspections, ensuring that safety standards are not only met but exceeded.
- Lead Investigations: Take the lead in accident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Maintain and Improve Safety Documentation: Create, review, and update the Company's risk assessments, method statements, and procedures to reflect the highest safety standards.
- Fire Safety Expertise: Assist in the review and improvement of fire risk assessments, ensuring all control measures are in place.
- Manage Inspection Records: Coordinate and maintain comprehensive site inspection records, ensuring all data is up-to-date and accessible.
- Provide Insightful Reporting: Compile and analyse KPIs and other data to contribute to Company reports, supporting informed decision-making.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Skills
- Training Delivery: Proven ability to deliver engaging and informative training sessions.
- Fire Safety Knowledge: Solid understanding of fire safety protocols and practices.
- Process Safety Understanding: Awareness of process safety principles and their application in a construction environment.
- Construction Safety Experience: Hands-on experience in managing and overseeing safety in construction-related activities.
Experience
- Health and Safety Expertise: A minimum of three years of experience in a health and safety role, ideally within a construction environment.
Qualifications and Training
- NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent: A recognised qualification in health and safety is essential.
- Trainer/Assessor Qualification: While not essential, a qualification in training or assessment is highly desirable.
Other Essential Skills
- Administrative Proficiency: Strong administration skills with competence in MS Office software.
- Communication Excellence: Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
