About the role

The Head of Strategy and Product Portfolio will work closely with the business to understand the viewpoints of your internal and external customers along with understanding the problems, concerns and opportunities within the organisation and leverage technology to enable the business to achieve your Outcome Delivery Incentives (ODIs).

You’ll be accountable for the strategic direction of IS Architecture and Product Management and own the vision and plan of how your teams must evolve to meet the objectives of the IS Target Operating Model (TOM, along with clearly articulating this to ensure the team have clear direction which will build and maintain momentum. You’ll be a member of the IS leadership team, Product Council and NWL’s wider leadership group, playing a key role in the transformation of the IS Department and the success of the wider business.

In the role, you’ll bring the benefits of leading technologies such as AI and Machine Learning and integrate these technologies into the business to help realise efficiencies and better service outcomes. We’re looking for you to build, manage and orchestrate a vibrant community of product managers and architects who will innovate new solutions and drive excellence to delight your customers. You’ll be leading a team of Product Managers and you’ll be accountable for the production and fulfilment of a robust set of product-focussed business cases which will provide measureable benefits to the business.

You’ll have accountability for the future direction of all enabling IT infrastructure and architecture within the estate and the portfolio of products which sit within the Productivity/Collaboration, Corporate GRC, Customer, IS Innovation & Strategy, Assets & Geographical and Digital & Integration product families.

About You

We’re looking for you to have demonstrable experience in leading organisational change and a track record in creating a successful strategic roadmap within an IS departments. You’ll have the proven experience of influencing key individuals at all levels across the wider business and be an experienced and effective leader able to engage with staff and promote team work. As an experienced senior leader, you’ll be able to lead and motivate technical delivery teams and influence wider business and programme teams to achieve demanding targets to deliver the programme in line with overall strategy.

This role has a budget of >£10m, so we’re looking for you to have proven experience in budget management and control and a proven track record of delivery of large scale IS programme management. We’re looking for you to have a good working knowledge of working in an Agile/Devops organisation and familiarity of the Agile Manifesto and how this can be applied to Product Management and Solution Architecture.

We’re looking for you to have a high level of understanding of the regulatory framework and key outputs, customer service and related policies, along with being able to understanding the technical risks, dependencies and issues that exist, be able to quantify these and the impact they may have on the programme and remediate as required.

You’ll be able to build relationships with key business and external stakeholders to make change happen, along with the ability to robustly guide and influence the design and build of solutions across a wide range of business stakeholders and contractors. You’ll also be able to promote collaboration, coach and facilitate coordination of the various work streams to achieve the successful delivery of integrated technical solutions.
