Global Technical Training Planning Manager (UK)

We are currently recruiting a Technical Training Manager within the UK Planning Team. Within this role, you will be responsible for the review and management of end-to-end training planning, administration, and delegate management processes. In this role, you will be the lead contact for the business, Managed Service Provider, external training suppliers, internal trainers, specialists and Delivery Managers.

Within the role you will be responsible for Learning Management System (LMS), Business systems and change approvals, as well as a portfolio of projects and continuous improvement initiatives. You will support the provision of training compliance management information and provide direct line management to a team servicing the UK training demand.

Please note that although this is a hybrid role, there is expected attendance of three days a week within the office.

The team span is over 3 sites at Eakring - Nottinghamshire, Tipton - West Midlands,Taunton - South West

What you'll do

• Build good working relationships with internal & external customers and manage the day-to-day relationship with them to understand their requirements and
  deliver appropriate solutions within National Grid policies and processes.
• Oversee the operational workload of the team to ensure allocated resources are fully utilised to deliver against agreed upon work plan and execute work activities within planned unit and budget cost.
• Provide support to customers in accessing training and support the delegate management processes.
• Review resource constraints and opportunities ensure productivity and performance is maximised, and work with internal and external training providers to
  optimise training delivery plans across National Grid.
• Lead on Managed Service Providers and External Vendors delivery management and help resolve any escalations.
• Manage stakeholders and ensure expectations and requirements are being met
• Provide support for the UK Learning Councils
• Triage responsibility for all training demand in the UK via the SNOW system and other communication methods
• Provide support for the wider Group Technical Training team with continuous process improvement and ongoing Data Protection actions.
• Process service level agreement (SLA) tracking all internal training.
• Support the UK Performance and Budget Manager, business and training managers in formulating and costing (where applicable) the Annual Learning Plans
  (ALP)
• Responsible for the UK Planning Team, managing team performance through the Company performance process. Promote the philosophy of safe team working and development across all activities to achieve operational objectives and continuously improve performance.
• Seek and execute more cost effective and streamlined ways of working and internal processes to reduce manual burden and create efficiencies within the team.
• Facilitate the development and delivery of a training curriculum that fosters the organization's commitment to excellence, growth, and performance

What you'll need

• Experience leading a high performing team.
• Experience in systems / process design and implementation.
• Good analytical skills, with an ability to quickly analyse information and make decisions.
• An understanding of UK Learning & Development activities undertaken across the National Grid business and the value they drive.
• The post holder will set high standards for all aspects of the role ensuring effective workload management whilst ensuring attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and skills at all levels and ability to develop effective working relationships, both with internal and external Customers/Stakeholders.
• Demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure to meet critical deadlines.
• Experience in supporting the creation of new and reviewing existing processes and implementing changes across a department.
• Competent in providing guidance and instruction to others as required.
• Wide business/technical knowledge gained through experience.
• Relationship building and engagement of resources within external third-party vendors up to account executive level
• Strong understanding of Managed Service Provider contract administration and governance
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Good time management skills
• Capacity for self-motivation and creative problem-solving
• 5+ years management / learning / administration experience
• Experience in leading teams
• Experience in various areas of Operations and/or Learning & Development
• Demonstrated expertise and leadership in improvement required

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £61,000 - £74,000 per annum dependent on capability.
