About the Role
The GIS Manager role is to provide leadership to the GIS (Geographic Information System) function including its team, systems and processes. To maintain a high quality, accurate and timely data sets for our internal teams and external partners. To develop and guide the future needs of the GIS function, identifying efficiencies to ensure the delivery of a high-class service.
Key Responsibilities
- Line management of GIS Team
- Prioritisation of GIS activities with a focus on delivering best value and outcomes for the business needs.
- Working with stakeholders to understand their needs and prioritise work requests
- Continuous development and support of GIS Team to enhance knowledge, skills and competencies
- Hands-on support of GIS projects
- Participate in the GIS Standby rota (1 week in 7) Additional payment
Requirements
- Educated to a degree level in a GIS, IT or related subject area.
- Proven experience in team leadership in a technical and dynamic environment.
- Proven experience of stakeholder management Knowledge of the utility sector would be an advantage.
- Experience leading or supporting GIS system upgrades
- Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to engage with all levels of colleagues and stakeholders on technical and non- technical matters
- Ability to work in a dynamic and reactive environment with fast-changing priorities
- Passionate about GIS and geo spatial data
- Project Management

This role will consist of a two stage interview process of behavioural and technical competency based questions.

- Hours of work: 08:30am - 17:00pm (Monday - Thursday) 08:30am - 16:30pm (Friday)
