Job Purpose

 

We are currently looking for fleet technicians to join our teams in multiple locations. The purpose of this position is to provide an efficient, cost effective and quality repair service for the vehicles and plant fleet, ensuring that the operational teams can carry out their duties.

 

 

 

Job Accountabilities

 
  • To repair and maintain a diverse fleet of vehicles and Plant items in a cost efficient and timely manner.
  •            
  • Liaise with Operators regarding the maintenance and repair of fleet items.
  •            
  • Commission and de-commission fleet items.
  •            
  • Ensure that all documentation is filled in correctly and on time.
  •            
  • Comply with Ministry of Transports legislation and Health and Safety regulations and deals with Health and Safety issues.
  •            
  • To assist the Workshop Controller as required.
  •            
  • Buddy/teacher for apprentices.
  •            
  • Participate in flexible working, standby and call-out arrangements.
 

 

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

We are looking for candidates that meet the following criteria:

 
  • Time served apprenticeship, City and guilds level 3 in HGV maintenance and repair.
  •            
  • IRTEC inspection technician qualification.
  •            
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  •            
  • Class 1 HGV driving licence.
  •            
  • Knowledge of Transport and Health and Safety Legislation
  •            
  • Team working, organisational skills.
  •            
  • Communication with customers and contractors
  •            
  • Vehicle diagnostic computer literate
